Top Greater Taunton H.S. sports performers for April 14-20 (2025)

Another week of spring high school sports action is upon us in the Greater Taunton area.

Last week, Taunton baseball, Taunton softball and Bristol-Plymouth softball all remained perfect while Dighton-Rehoboth baseball kicked off its season with a win and Dighton-Rehoboth softball took down rivals and back-to-back Division 4 defending champions Case. Bristol-Plymouth girls lacrosse got a new all-time record goal scorer while a Bridgewater-Raynham tennis player extended his match-winning streak to 15, a Taunton girls lacrosse player reached a career milestone and Bridgewater-Raynham track and field had another solid showing. Taunton boys volleyball and Dighton-Rehoboth boys lacrosse also continued looking strong.

Here's a look at all the scores, stats and results from the third week of April.

Saturday

Baseball

Cam Dorr led the way for Taunton (7-0, 5-0 Hockomock), going 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI as the Tigers beat Xaverian 5-1 on the road in non-league action. Dylan Keenan went 2-for-3 with an RBI while Caden Lindskog went 1-for-4 with a run and Johnny Escobalez earned the win, going 5⅓ innings giving up a run on four hits and a walk while striking out three and went 1-for-3 with a run at the plate.

Quinlan Keefe led the way for Bridgewater-Raynham (4-4), going 1-for-3 with a pair of runs and a pair of RBIs off a home run as the Trojans beat Holliston 13-4 at home. Tyler Strausbaugh went 3-for-4 with a run and a pair of RBIs while Owen King went 1-for-4 with a pair of runs and an RBI, Shamus Barrett went 2-for-4 with a pair of runs and an RBI and Eddie Ritchie went 2-for-3 with a run and a pair of RBIs. Liam Spry earned the win, going 5⅓ innings giving up a run on four hits while striking out six.

Ben Miller led the way for Dighton-Rehoboth (3-1, 1-1 SCC), going 2-for-2 with a double, a pair of runs and an RBI as the Falcons beat Nauset 8-4 at home in non-league action. Jordan Castro went 1-for-3 with a run and a pair of RBIs while Lucas LeTourneau went 1-for-3 with a pair of runs and Aidan Melo went 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI. Gavin Salera earned the win, going four innings giving up four runs (three earned) on five hits and three walks while striking out six and had a pair of RBIs at the plate.

Boys Track and Field

Matthew Roy led the way for Dighton-Rehoboth, finishing second overall in the 200 meter (0:24.6), long jump (18 feet 3 inches, personal best) and the triple jump (36 feet 9 inches, personal best) as the Falcons finished third overall with 59.5 points at home in the SCC Freshman/Sophomore Invitational.

Girls Track and Field

Leah Hyder and Quinn Kotch both led the way for Dighton-Rehoboth (2-1, 2-1 SCC), with Hyder winning the mile (5:50, personal best) and Kotch winning the two mile (13:02.4, personal best) as the Falcons won the SCC Freshman/Sophomore Invitational with 86.5 points at home.

Friday

Softball

Edy Latour led the way for Dighton-Rehoboth (4-1, 0-1 SCC), tossing all seven shutout innings giving up four hits and three walks while striking out 10 as the Falcons beat defending Division 2 champions Walpole, 5-0, at home in non-league action. Emma Horrocks went 1-for-3 with a home run, a run and a pair of RBIs while Mia Ribeiro went 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI, Izzy Moss went 2-for-4 with a run, Kylie Smith went 1-for-3 with a pair of RBIs and Haleigh Kelley went 1-for-3 with a run.

Girls Lacrosse

Kassidy Glynn, Gia Guarino and Kassidy Ferrarese all found the back of the net as Taunton (0-7, 0-5 Hockomock) fell 16-3 to Milford at home in Hockomock action. Goalie Abigail Clark made eight saves in net.

Emily Keefe led the way for Bridgewater-Raynham (6-2, 1-0 SEC) with eight goals and an assist as the Trojans beat Dighton-Rehoboth (4-3, 2-1 SCC) 13-6 at home. Ashley McLaren had a hat trick for B-R while Lacey Haikola had a pair of goals and Kate Lambert recorded an assist. For the Falcons, Karina Bosco led the way with a hat trick and seven draws while Olivia Thibert had a pair of goals, Mara Levesque found the back of the net, Gia Papa had a pair of assists and goalie Phoebe Braga made nine saves.

Thursday

Softball

Izzy Torres led the way for Bristol-Plymouth (8-0), going 3-for-5 with a double, a triple, a pair of runs and four RBIs as the Craftsmen beat Durfee 18-8 on the road in non-league action. Alexis Courtemarche went 4-for-4 with four runs while Jessica Slavick went 2-for-5 with a pair of runs and three RBIs and Lola Dunderdale went 3-for-4 with a run and an RBI. Gabrianna Arrighi earned the win in the circle, going all seven innings giving up eight runs on 12 hits while striking out 12.

Baseball

Ryan Mahoney led the way for Bridgewater-Raynham (3-4), going 2-for-3 with a run and an RBI as the Trojans fell 12-2 to King Philip on the road. Tyler Strausbaugh went 1-for-3 with a run.

Kyle Weldon led the way for Bristol-Plymouth (4-0), going 1-for-3 with a double and a pair of RBIs as the Craftsmen beat Greater New Bedford 6-4 at home in non-league action. Colby Robertson went 1-for-4 with a run and an RBI while Jayden Cruz, Antonio Cirino and Joe Benevides went 1-for-3 with a run and Nick Pemberton went 1-for-4 with a run. Cayden Ellis earned the win, going 1⅓ no-hit innings in relief giving up two unearned runs on three walks while striking out three.

Lucas LeTourneau led the way for Dighton-Rehoboth (2-1, 1-1 SCC), going 3-for-4 with a double, three runs and four RBIs as the Falcons beat Dartmouth 16-7 on the road in non-league action. Jordan Castro went 2-for-3 with a pair of runs and four RBIs while Aidan Melo went 3-for-3 with a pair of runs and a pair of RBIs, Gavin Salera went 2-for-4 with two runs and an RBI, Charlie Roth went 1-for-3 with a pair of runs and Cole Viveiros went 1-for-5 with a pair of runs and an RBI. Ben Miller earned the win, tossing five innings giving up three runs on four hits and five walks while striking out two and went 1-for-2 with a pair of runs at the plate.

Boys Lacrosse

Jayson Kelleher led the way for Bridgewater-Raynham (3-3, 1-0 SEC) with a hat trick as the Trojans fell 8-4 to King Philip in non-league action. Matthew Holton also found the back of the net while goalie Shaun LaCivita made 13 saves in net.

Boys Tennis

Banks Beckwith led the way for Bridgewater-Raynham (4-4) won first singles 6-0, 6-0 to extend his match winning streak to 18 as the Trojans swept Middleboro 5-0 on the road.

Girls Tennis

The duo of Aubry Harris and Cailee Leonard lost first doubles 6-6 (5-7), 6-3, 8-10 as Dighton-Rehoboth (1-4, 1-4 SCC) fell 5-0 to Somerset Berkley on the road.

Girls Track and Field

Jalissa Raphino led the way for Dighton-Rehoboth (2-1, 2-1 SCC) winning the 400 meter (1:06.4) and the high jump (4 feet 6 inches) as the Falcons beat Somerset Berkley 85-50 at home in an SCC dual meet. Also scoring dual meet wins for D-R were Becca Zankul in the 100 meter (0:13.5), Kohra Oullette in the 200 meter (0:30), Leah Hyder in the 800 meter (2:38.3, personal best), Quinn Kotch in the mile (6:14.5, personal best), Maggie Kazanjian in the two mile (13:46.01, personal best) and Jadyn Toddings in the 100 meter hurdles (0:19.6).

Boys Volleyball

Andrew Cabral led the way for Dighton-Rehoboth (1-8, 1-6 TVL) with 15 kills, 14 digs and six aces as the Falcons fell 3-2 (25-21, 25-27, 24-26, 25-19, 11-15) to Attleboro at home in non-league action. Robbie Shea had 34 assists and four kills while Yasiel Rodriguez had 10 kills and 12 digs.

Wednesday

Softball

Cate Larson led the way for Taunton (7-0, 6-0 Hockomock), tossing a perfect game striking out 11 and going 2-for-4 with four RBIs at the plate as the Tigers beat Sharon 25-0 on the road in five innings of Hockomock action. Bella Bourque went 4-for-5 with a double, a home run, five runs and four RBIs while Aniyah Bailey went 2-for-4 with a home run, a pair of runs and five RBIs, Maddie Crowley went 3-for-3 with a home run, three runs and a pair of RBIs, Ahava Jett went 2-for-5 with a triple, a pair of runs and three RBIs and Abbie Doherty went 1-for-2 with a double, a pair of runs and a pair of RBIs.

Chloe Martin led the way for Bridgewater-Raynham (4-2), going 1-for-2 with a pair of runs as the Trojans fell 19-4 to Bishop Feehan in five innings on the road. Olivia Roy went 2-for-3 with a run while Claire Roy also had a run.

Autumn Nicholson led the way for Bristol Aggie (0-4), going 3-for-3 with a run and an RBI as Aggie fell 15-3 to Westport at home in MAC crossover action. Molly LaBrie went 2-for-3 with an RBI while Liv Furtado and Izzy Znoj each had a hit and a run.

Emma Horrocks led the way for Dighton-Rehoboth (3-1, 0-1 South Coast Conference), going 4-for-4 with a home run, a run and five RBIs as the Falcons beat Fairhaven 20-0 at home in five innings of SCC action. Kylie Smith went 3-for-4 with a pair of runs and a pair of RBIs while Haleigh Kelley went 2-for-4 with three runs and an RBI, Courtney Botelho went 2-for-3 with a pair of runs and an RBI, Zoe Fortin went 1-for-1 with three runs, Sara Marsella went 1-for-4 with a run and a pair of RBIs and Cam Cloonan went 1-for-3 with a pair of runs and an RBI. Ashley McLaren had a pair of goals while Claire Fitzsimmons had a goal and an assist, Audrey Lambert had a goal and Kate Lambert, Frankie Fernandes and Erin Rennie each recorded an assist.

Karina Bosco led the way for Dighton-Rehoboth (4-2, 2-1 SCC) with nine goals and five draws as the Falcons beat Bourne 17-7 at home in SCC action. Gia Papa had a pair of goals and five assists while Skyla Stott had a pair of goals and an assist, Olivia Thibert had a goal, three assists and four draws, Mara Levesque had a goal and a pair of assists, Kaia Goulart had a goal and an assist, Olivia Gabriel had a goal and Ainsley Zibrida recorded three assists.

Boys Tennis

Banks Beckwith led the way for Bridgewater-Raynham (3-4), winning first singles 6-0, 6-1 to extend his match winning streak to 17 as the Trojans beat Bishop Stang 4-1 at home.

Girls Tennis

Eily Mitchell led the way for Bridgewater-Raynham (8-0) winning second singles 7-5, 6-1 as the Trojans beat Bishop Stang 3-2 on the road. Chloe Nichols won third singles 6-2, 6-2 while the duo of Lily Cooley and Tamia McQueen won first doubles 6-4, 6-3.

Boys Track and Field

Deshawn Faulk led the way for Bridgewater-Raynham, winning both the 110 meter hurdles (0:16.85, personal best) and triple jump (41 feet 5 inches, personal best) at the Whaler Invitational at New Bedford High School. Also scoring wins for B-R were Evan Bray in the 100 meter (0:11.45), Jack Hannigan in the 200 meter (0:23.18), Brian Peters in the 400 meter (0:51.76, personal best), Josh Geer in the mile (4:38.35, personal best), Joey Brand in the two mile (10:28.85), Jack Kless in the 400 meter hurdles (1:03.1, personal best), the 4x400 meter relay team of Peters, Ryan Hall, Hannigan and Caiden Blake (3:31.71) and Cole LeCornec in the discus (96 feet 6 inches, personal best)

Girls Track and Field

Camden Strandberg led the way for Bridgewater-Raynham, winning both the 400 meter (1:02.12, personal best) and high jump (5 feet 2 inches) at the Whaler Invitational at New Bedford High School. Also scoring wins for B-R were Brenna Woodbury in the 800 meter (2:29.9), Molly Jesson in the mile (5:53.83), the 4x400 meter relay team of Annalynne Barrett, Isabella Johnson, Woodbury and Strandberg (4:30.8), Erin Mitchell in the javelin (91 feet 2 inches, personal best), Kelsie Dessaps in the long jump (15 feet, 8.5 inches) and Christian Wise in the triple jump (32 inches, 10.5 inches, personal best).

Boys Volleyball

Travis Johnson led the way for Taunton (6-1, 3-1 Hockomock) with 15 kills, 10 digs and three blocks as the Tigers swept Attleboro 3-0 (25-12, 25-20, 25-10) at home in Hockomock action. Daniel Freitas had 23 assists and nine digs while Dantae Bauer had 16 digs and Donny Providence had eight digs.

Connor Bessette led the way for Dighton-Rehoboth (1-7, 1-6 TVL) with nine kills and five blocks as the Falcons fell 3-1 (15-25, 19-25, 25-20, 12-25) to Bellingham at home in TVL action. Yasiel Rodriguez had seven kills and eight assists while Jacob St. Vincent had six kills and eight blocks.

Tuesday

Girls Lacrosse

Emily Keefe led the way for Bridgewater-Raynham (5-1, 1-0 Southeast Conference) with six goals, including the 200th of her high school career, as the Trojans beat Silver Lake 18-8 on the road. Ashley McLaren and Grace LaRose each had a hat trick while Audrey Lambert and Claire Fitzsimmons both had a pair of goals and an assist and Franklie Fernandes and Lacey Haikola both found the back of the net.

Taunton (2-1, 2-1 Hockomock) beat Sharon 99-36 at home in a Hockomock dual meet. Scoring dual meet wins for the Tigers were Dante Mosely in the 100 meter (0:11.3, personal best), Brayden Blennau in the 200 meter (0:23.3), Nicholas Reposa in the 800 meter (2:12), Jordan Trucchi in the two mile (10:32), Elderson Moreira in the 110 meter hurdles (0:16.2), Noah Faidell in the 400 meter hurdles (1:04.6, personal best), the 4x100 meter relay team of Carlos Cruz, Usman Yusif, Kadon Jordan and Brayden Salvo (0:44.4), Alex Susol in the shot put (44 feet 8 inches), Jaedon Thompson in the discus (117 feet 7 inches), Elijah Perez in the javelin (138 feet 6.5 inches), Ezeekial Alves in the long jump (19 feet 6 inches, personal best) and Trinley Dudley in the triple jump (38 feet 9 inches, personal best).

Bella Coughlin and Sophia Olaniyan both led the way for Taunton (1-2, 1-2 Hockomock), with Coughlin winning the 400 meter (1:04.3) and the triple jump (34 feet) and Olaniyan winning the shot put (28 feet 3 inches) and discus (97 feet 2 inches) as the Tigers beat Sharon 72-64 at home in a Hockomock dual meet. Also scoring dual meet wins for Taunton were Emersyn DePonte in the mile (5:34), Maddy Dias in the two mile (13:34.1), Renee Leao in the 400 meter hurdles (1:14.4), the 4x400 meter relay team of Sierra Obazuaye, Leao, Sophie Almeida and Coughlin (4:37.3) and Max Cassinelli in the javelin (92 feet 5.5 inches).

Cullen Craffey had a hat trick and a pair of assists while Chris Rego had a goal and three assists, Landon Lima had a pair of goals and an assist, Fletcher O'Connor and Jameson Murphy both found the back of the net and Brody Pettinato and Jason Proctor each recorded an assist.

Maddi Szala had a goal and an assist while Madison Cardoso and Gia Guarino both found the back of the net, Kassidy Glynn recorded an assist and goalie Abigail Clark made four saves.

Emma Ericson led the way for Bristol-Plymouth (5-1, 4-1 MAC) with five goals as the Craftsmen beat Fontbonne Academy 7-5 at home in non-league action. Rachael Spooner and Kourtney Spooner also found the back of the net while goalie Emma Giovenelli made 11 saves.

Girls Track and Field
